House and Senate budget conferees (negotiators) have been appointed to work through the differences in the House and Senate budget. Now is the time to let legislators know that United Ways in North Carolina rely on individual contributions to fund important, impactful work in communities across North Carolina. A cap on itemized deductions will reduce contributions and imperil nonprofits. House members spoke strongly against the Senate proposal in press conferences and committee meetings. Please Thank the House members for their support of nonprofit charitable contributions! Now, we must convince the Senate that a cap on itemized deductions is not the way to go.
