Sarah brings individuals from all sectors, regions, and diverse perspectives together to collectively identify key strategies and build capacity for collective action on emerging issues facing North Carolina's long-term economic prosperity. In her nearly eight years with IEI, Sarah's specialty has been creating and managing multi-level, multi-stakeholder initiatives, including InnovateNC, a first-in-the-nation effort to expand inclusive innovation capacity statewide. Prior to joining IEI, she worked in health policy at the N.C. Division of Public Health, N.C. Department of Public Instruction, and UNC Chapel Hill.
Sarah holds a graduate degree in public health from the University at Albany.
She has been recognized by the Triangle Business Journal with the 40 Under 40 award (2013) and by NC State University with the Outstanding Extension Service Award (2018). Sarah is a graduate of Leadership North Carolina (Class XIX).
